Gamified Self App is a user experience research project I created for a class, but also out of personal interest to see what might make an interesting and useful app for people with serious health concerns.

The Gamified Self touches on philosophies of the Quantified Self movement and applies gamificaiton principles to create a rewarding experience.

The basic idea behind the gamified self is to encourage self-quantification in the form of personal data, and reward and reinforce that behavior with achievements, social networks, and self-awareness. By connecting people to their illness in a very constructive way, they are more likely to take better care of themselves.

The Dashboard contains relevant easy to digest information including doctor’s appointments, medications, and social feeds.

Health tracking shows the most important elements that must be tracked, from blood sugar, to creatinine, to white blood count and everything in between. Graph of progress shows the ups and downs of the results, and a self-reporting area lets patients report how they are feeling to themselves, doctors, or social networks.
